Description
Location: Bar-Lev North High-Tech Park
Department: R&D Robotics
Nextpower develops autonomous robotic inspection systems for large-scale solar power plants.
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to lead system-level architecture, integration, and validation of an autonomous ground robot operating in complex outdoor environments.
The role focuses on end-to-end ownership of a multi-disciplinary robotic system, including mobility, perception, navigation, sensing, compute, and communications. You will define system architecture, interfaces, and requirements, and work closely with software, AI, mechanical, and hardware teams in Israel and the US to deliver a robust, field-proven platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering for robotics, autonomous vehicles, or complex electro-mechanical systems
- Strong system architecture skills across perception, localization, navigation, controls, compute, and power
- Experience leading system integration, interface definition, and verification processes
- Hands-on experience with real-time embedded systems and autonomous mobility platforms
- Ability to translate operational, safety, and performance goals into technical requirements and validation plans
- Proven collaboration with cross-functional and geographically distributed engineering teams
Advantages:
- Experience with LiDAR, GNSS, vision-based localization, or sensor fusion
- Familiarity with fleet management systems, OTA updates, and cloud-connected robotics
- Knowledge of communication stacks (LTE/5G, Wi-Fi, LoRa)
- Experience with reliability engineering, environmental qualification, or functional safety
This role is ideal for engineers driven by system-level problem solving, real-world deployment, and building scalable autonomous robotic platforms.
