The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in providing hands-on technical support to subcontractor production lines, ensuring continuous manufacturing flow, rapid resolution of on-site issues, and implementation of effective engineering solutions.
Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day technical support to full turnkey subcontractor manufacturing sites
Respond promptly to production issues, troubleshoot equipment and process failures, and implement corrective actions
Act as the technical interface between subcontractor production teams and internal R&D
Collaborate with Quality Assurance to address nonconformities, support investigations, and implement solutions
Lead yield improvement initiatives through data analysis, root cause identification, and process optimization
Design and maintain manufacturing jigs, fixtures, and production tools to improve manufacturability
Support implementation of engineering changes (ECOs)
Participate in ramp-up activities including setup, training, and integration of subcontractors
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or production support within a manufacturing environment
Experience in the medical device industry – an advantage, including work in regulated environments (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA, CE)
Proven experience with NPI / TTP processes
Hands-on experience with production tooling, fixtures, and mechanical assemblies
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently on the production floor
Excellent collaboration skills with subcontractors, R&D, and Quality teams
Fluent in English – written and verbal
